Pre Ops Today--nervous

Hi Ladies! Well, had my hospital pre ops today. The usual pee in the cup and poke in the arm along with a long consulation with surgical coord. She was very nice and knows my family and made me feel at ease for the most part. After it was all over I found myself shaking on the way to my car. Guess I am just a little freaked out right now, hopefully it'll pass. I'd love to "morph" myself into the future to like a week after surgery, but....It is nice to go thru things step by step. I meet again with my Dr/Surgeon and the Anest. the morning of surgery (8/5). Hope all you LIW are hanging in there, I can't wait to be done with this!

hello

I can totally understand what you are saying.. I was nervous the moment I made the appt for surgery . It only progressed. The day of my pre- op I had to sign papers and go over the details.. I was ok till the end. I started to cry with the nurse she was very sweet. Then on the way to my car I broke down again to hubby. You will have a rollercoaster of emotions. Just know when you are done.. It was the best decision you made for yourself and you can then go down another path to recovery and a better quality of life.. I wish you all the best.

Pre Ops Today--nervous

Hi {{{{{{Mary}}}}}

Sounds like you had a good appointment! That's terrific! Now just hold onto this pleasantness and KNOW that these very same people will be looking after you in surgery and after.

You really are going to be fine, hon. The waiting is, by far, the worst part of it. But if you keep a positive attitude and try to keep calm, you're going to do SUPER!

Check out this post for extra help!

Nerves really kicked in at my pre-op

Before the pre-op at the hospital, I had fears that they would lose the paper work and that I wasn't really booked for surgery. Ok, so I was in denial, big time. Reality really hit after that appointment. Went into work for the afternoon, and I guess I was quite out of it. Co-workers asked me if I really should be there. Actually, it was the best place for me, as I was trying to be normal again.
Surgery went well, first week was tough, as your body is trying to recover.
