Four weeks post op - tugging pain

It will be four weeks (TAH/BSO) post op on Wednesday and it seems as if everything has been going well. I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since before I left the hospital. I haven't had any urine, gas, or bowel problems. I haven't had any sleeping problems, I have a healthy appetite and have been walking (not my pre-surgery walks, very slow and much shorter) everyday for weeks now.

My question is this... when I am standing, moving, walking too long I feel this tugging burning pain to the left or right of the incision. I don't have this feeling when I am laying down, although I do have it when I sit upright in a chair for long periods of time.

I haven't taken any pain medicine for weeks now, because if I lay down the pain goes away. I have not been lifting or doing any housework and I haven't been back to work yet.

Is this a part of the normal healing process? I see my doctor on Friday for a check up, but I was wondering if others out there at four weeks post op still have this pain.

i went to my doctor for the same reason and he said that it was the nerves regenerating. I told him I was just fine not having feeling before. ! I hope all is well with you...I am just tired of being tired.

Thanks for the reply, it is good to know that others are going through the same thing. I will add this to my list of questions for my doctor at my post op appt. this week.

I am also tired of being tired. At least my sleep is getting back to normal hours and I am not taking a lot of naps anymore. I am now down to one nap a day instead of two. I look forward to the day when this is all behind me. Take care.
