air travel post-op?

A couple of things to do is to get up at least every hour and move around, drink plenty of water and check out the exercise advice here on Northwest's website: http://www.nwa.com/travel/tips/tips.html You need to scroll down just a little ways.

Thanks JM that is a great website! Fortunately, I have a layover of about 2 hours half way so I will have a chance to move around a lot, but I'll still use all those exercises during my flights.

I am also flying next week - from DC to Los Angelos - 3 weeks post op. My drs office says it should be OK, and I am not supposed to life my suitcase (this will be the tricky part). Otherwise it should not be a big deal. I have been back to work since the 20th and getting used to sitting for long periods. I'm just gonna try to remain stress free!!!

Wendy - please post when you get to Montana so we can hear about your trip and know that everything went OK!!!

I'll be back on March 1st so I will definitely post at least by the 2nd. Not sure if I will get to post while I'm in Montana, I have 4 days to get to know my new sister in law, and three nephews, ages 11, almost 2, and 6 months, it will be a mad house!

I'm traveling by air 4 weeks post-op and my biggest concern is the luggage, since I'll be traveling alone.

I say get someone to help you - it's too risky to take the chance and possibly pull something. I was glad I had a travel companion but there are folks at the airport that will help if given enough notice -take care.
