Fresh bleeding post Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy
Help! I am 2 weeks post op and am wondering where all this bright red blood is coming from. Obviously not as much as before but enough to fill a liner overnight. I can only think of 3 explanations and don't fancy any.
1)Could it somehow be coming from my abdomen, as a result of cut ligaments wtc, i.e. post surgical cleansing? (I would have thought this would exit via bloodstream and urine - how could it pass my cervix?)
2) Could it be the bottom side of my cervix, that was shortened, not healing quickly?
3) Google tells me (surgeon didn't) that post hyst cyclical bleeding is expected in about 20% of LSH women. Really??!
Anyone else with this experience? Any hintsas to what's happening?
My surgeon is 3000km away and teaching so unavailable to answer this concern for 10 days. If I go to ER they might poke and make things worse, and how would they know what's causing it anyway?
Worried!!!

Re: Fresh bleeding post Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy
It may be a mini-period. If you kept at least one ovary and your cervix, it is still possible (and rather common) to have a small period during your cycle.
I wish more doctors would tell their patients that this is possible. I think many of us are discouraged to find that even without the uterus, we can still have a small period.
You may want to let your doctor know this is happening, just to keep him in the loop.

It might be from your healing. Mine stopped right after the surgery, but I bled like that for about three weeks afterward as I healed and I had my surgery removed. My doctor said it was normal, although there were a few days where it was a little heavier.

That sounds similar as the first week I had nothing. Was your week 2 and 3 bleeding fresh looking?
