TVH: Surgery is tomorrow (7/24) I am nervous and cant think straight

So this is it. Tomorrow is the day. The hospital just called me to give me the last directions. I am super nervous and could not even eat today. I know my doctor has re assured me it will all be fine, but still. The EKG at the pre admission came back normal. I am just so worried my heart will stop or I will have a heart attack on the OR. I am 41 years old and over weight (250 pounds). Anyone with the same problem as I have?

Yes and I'm scheduled for tomorrow as well. My Dr called me fluffy. Everything will be good. I panicked and now I'm fine, even looking forward to it being over!!! Prayers headed your way SIS!!!

My surgery is tomorrow as well (I'm 34) and when the hospital called with my admission instructions, after I hung up I freaked out. I'm better now, I know this has to be done. I'm also having 3 hernias repaired at the same time. I think I more or less have a fear of the unknown. Praying for y'all!!!

I had my surgery last week. I felt the same way the night before. Afterwards I was line what the heck did I get so worked up about? You will be fine. Prayers for fast healing headed your way!

Thank you all Sisters... To Tswann: did you have bandages inside you? A friend of mine told me she had a bunch of gauze or bandages inside her vagina and then the nurse took it out. That was the only pain that she experienced. I will like to know if anyone had that? Thanks again and good night. Tomorrow will be a good day!

Yes, I had the gauze. It was not painful when the nurse removed it. Remember you are on an adequate dose of pain medicine while in the hospital. My only advice would be to ask for a stool softener as soon as they will let you have it.

You will be fine! I had those same worries, I think everyone does. Yes, I weigh about the same and am 7 yrs older and lived through it just fine. Best wishes tomorrow!

My surgery is tomorrow too and I can't eat or sleep. I have to get up in 4 hours and be there by 5am
