Hysterectomy / Shingles Related?

Has anyone gotten the shingles virus after their hysterectomy? I had a lot of work done: TAH/BSO, A&P Repair with bladder tack and now have shingles. I'm 44.
Anyone else have this experience?

Hmm. I don't know if its shingles but about 2 months ago I broke out in a horrible rash on my upper chest / side of my neck and face. At first I thought I got into poison ivy & went to the Minute Clinic who gave me Prednisone. As soon as I was off it, the rash came back.

Then I started to think of other possibilities and realized that I get night sweats in that area, specifically, because I sleep with that side down on the pillow. There have been times I've woken up soaking wet - so maybe the sweat getting trapped between my skin & the pillow was causing a topical yeast infection or maybe my body chemistry has changed so much since the Hysterectomy that I'm "allergic" to my own sweat now? Treated it with (don't laugh) OTC vaginal yeast cream - Miconazole - and Apple cider Vinegar and put baby diaper rash cream on before bed at night. 1 week later the rash is gone although the skin feels papery & almost like it was burnt and I'm extremely sensitive to sunlight in that area.

Anyone else experience anything like that?

Hi Edna

So sorry to read that you are dealing with shingles on top of recovering. I can't say that I have read about others having this condition at the same time but I am sure that you will get sisters adding to your thread. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
