When can I soak in the tub?

I've enjoyed in my life is a long hot bath. Does anyone know when it's ok to take a bath? I usually take a hot bath, and then shower off. Any clues would help...

my doctor told me 2 weeks- a waited a little longer than that- no bubbles! i had a RALH.... from what i read, a lot of people have said 6 weeks but it does depend on your doctor! i would call and ask them. even though i did get the ok, i still have only taken 2..... i hope you get to soak soon..

Re: When can I soak in the tub?

My doc told me (because I too enjoy a hot bath here and there) three days would be fine. I'm at two weeks today and I have yet to go dipping in the tub. Still too nervous to be flopping around like that.

Re: When can I soak in the tub?

My doct did not say it was an issue for me to take bubblebaths. I was given the ok to shower and bath once I left the castle but I waited much longer because I did not want to fall in the tub. But I am taking bubblebaths now and it feels great and relaxing!! I guess every is different. I know you will feel good to get in that tub, girl!

Re: When can I soak in the tub?

Thanks ladies!--I'll have to ask when I go see my primary care on Monday. I've been showering since coming home, I simply know that soaking in a bath has germs written all over it. I usually don't do the bubbles...I find that Epsom salt is so relaxing. But I will definitely wait and see what the Dr says

Re: When can I soak in the tub?

my discharge sheet said 6 weeks.

I have seen others say their doctors said it was no problem right after surgery.

I might have cheated at 4 weeks....*shhhh* but definitely you want to wait until your incision is healed and until you have no vaginal discharge (means your sutures are dissolving) and obviously nothing in the vagina!!!! I've healed great and truthfully the hot water helped me with passing gas....
