Itchy incision area anyone?!?!

xoxo

I'm sorry you're experiencing this! I remember the itching all too well and the worst bit was I was also numb and, although I could feel the itching, scratching didn't help as I couldn't feel it!

You're certainly not alone and I hope some ladies will be along soon to share. In the meantime, if you try a "forum search" (click right on the main page of this forum) you'll find plenty of other posts to read through. Here's one thread to start you off: https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...itchy+incision. We also have have an article <link> Help - Itching! which is more about general itching, but may help you.

Hopefully, you'll find the situation will improve a bit when the staples are removed. Wishing you all the best!

Itchy incision area anyone?!?!

For me, the itching was helped by a few things:

First of all, I showered once a day and allowed the incision area to air-dry completely, so that when the bandages were put on they were on dry skin. I repeated the procedure at night, except instead of showering, I used a warm, damp, clean (!!) towel and pressed it on the incision area -- then went through the air-dry procedure. That's when I discovered a helper for the itching.

It was the terrycloth towel! Take a clean, damp terrycloth towel and press it against the area. Take the towel off, then press it down again. The pressure seemed to help the itching.

Hope this helps you, too.
