Arm pain question?

I had surgery on April 26th. A day or so after returning home I noticed the vein at my left wrist was bulging and sore. It was not at the iv site but below it 3 inches. My whole arm to my shoulder was also sore. Almost 3 weeks later I still have the bulging vein and my shoulder still hurts. It almost feels like the feeling you get after getting a shot. I showed the dr. my wrist at my 2 week post up and he said...this does happen to some people...it's a calcification?? I am curious if anyone else have expierenced this? Also I thought I had read on one of these boards that you do get a shot in the arm prior to surgery?

I am 4 days post op and feel way better than expected so I took a slow walk today. My right shoulder really bothered me as I walked. I do not notice any should pain when I'm lounging around the house so I'm assuming it had something to do with the walking. Don't have an answer for you but wanted to let you know I am experiencing something similar.

thanx ladies this helped. I had my TAH on 3.5.11, i also hav this pain in my left arm & shoulder. I kept telling my husband about it.Now that I read yr story, I realise that its cause ny the IV. Thanks & wishing u all a speedy recovery.

Rio flower...I kept telling my husband too!!! He said you are just being a worry wart (which I do worry too much) but I know the pain is there and the dr saw the bulge in my vein!! It wasn't in my head!! Lol thanks for your reply.. is your shoulder pain similar to the feeling of having a paimful shot? Did you have the hard bulging vein too?
