Post op hysterectomy day 12 - cramping pretty heavily today

I am cramping pretty heavily today.
I didn't get much sleep last night bc of a Kat nap yesterday.

I have been feeling amazing for the last few days. And I do very light things like make the kids snacks or get them drinks, feed the dog, empty the dish washer or fold clothes.

They feel like when I had my crazy periods and I would cramp all the way down to my thighs!

I'm laying down trying to take a nap, I'm going to try a hot pad.

But is this normal???
I'm nervous
I stopped pain meds 4 days ago.

Sometimes digestive issues feel just like our old menstrual cramps, the reason being that the same hormones are involved (prostaglandins, released by cells not our ovaries). They're released where there's inflammation, including surgical sites. Even if you're making a bowel movement daily, your system might not be up to speed yet.

Aim for foods with fiber and magnesium: dark leafy greens, whole grains and fiber cereals, fruit (dried, fresh or frozen in smoothies), nuts, seeds, avocados, prune juice and water-water-water to make it all flow smoothly.

Take some short walks interspersed with resting (and recline when you rest), heating pad is a good friend. Hope this passes soon!
