feeling non-productive

I was thanking my husband for all of his support- but also how I was feeling non-productive. He said I HAD to heal! Then I found the video on 3-4 weeks post-op. WHAT A GREAT thing!!! Thanks for that informative video and help.

Re: feeling non-productive

Me too. I'm so used to moving here and there, doing this and that. My husband has been great as well. But I do feel unproductive....got caught unloading the dishwasher...scolded. However, that small task felt so good. I can so validate where you are at!!!

Re: feeling non-productive

That is so funny because my husband keeps catching me do liitle things and scolding me too. Getting frustrated and told him I felt like I was being lazy. He said its not lazy, its taking the time to heal. I told him at this point I don't see a difference. Lol i know i need this time to heal....but it is driving me crazy.

Re: feeling non-productive

All women should be so deserving and have great husbands!! I've read some posts that indicate otherwise...so sad. I like being an active gal and find this sitting and healing rather a challenge. One of life's lessons I suppose. Hee hee, I really pay attention to when I hear that garage door go up..don't want to get caught mid act.

Haha...i thought my husband was in the shower the other day because i heard the water running so that was my all clear to put some dishes in the dishwasher. Next thing Ihear is "what are you doing?" That stinker was testing me and turned the water on and snuck downstairs to catch me!

Re: feeling non-productive

Oh, that is wicked clever. Gotta give him that. What a sweety, I mean really!! Rory took the vacuum, put it in his truck and took it to work. He confiscated the vacuum!!!

Re: feeling non-productive

Love it! Mine is exactly the same way! I got fussed out for going downstairs too many times yesterday. He still makes me report my pain level to him on the pain scale. I am not going to tell him that I shaved my legs today and hope he doesn't notice!

Re: feeling non-productive

hahaha....am giggling as I read this thread as there are so many things I can relate to. I too keep getting told off for doing things, although I'm allowed to empty the dishwasher now....yay!!
I feel lazy just sat around whilst my boyfriend does everything, and I don't like having to ask him to do everything all the time. Sometimes it takes him a while to get around to things and I sneak off and do them myself - like putting clean bedding on the bed in the spare room.

Re: feeling non-productive

My hubby is the same way. He says I'm his wife and it's not a burden but I can't help feeling like one. He says my only job is to sit and be a pretty face

Re: feeling non-productive

Its been almost a month and I still get scolded. My hubby works nights so he crawls in bed basically as Im crawling out and yesterday I was told to behave myself and make the kids clean the kitchen ( it so needed a scrubbing). When he got up he looked at me swelly belly and said you didnt listen did you. I did have the kids mop but I did the counters, stove, and dishes also cleaned the bathroom. My kids did the laundry though. lol It felt good to be productive and it was only light housework which Dr said is fine ( Ive had all clear since 1wk. post op) but my hubby has a different interpretation! I keep saying to him tjat hes gonna spoil me and I may never pick up a mop again!
