belly button/stitches

I know there have been several topics on this in the last month...

But, ouwwie, my belly button hurts.

I have been using peroxide on it, and benadryl cream below it. (itches really bad). Today I noticed a raised white spot, like pus or something.

Naughty me, I used twizzors (sterile) to "pop" it. I ended up pulling out a stitch, a small piece of very thin white string. Plus pus/icky stuff.

So i put more peroxide on it. Boy, did it sting!

I know other ladies belly buttons have hurt. But has the stomach area below it itched really bad? No matter if I scratch or not, there is no relief. Benadryl just soothes the surface only. The irritation/itch is still there. I am doing my best to not touch it.

belly button/stitches

I had LAVH in January, and had the worst time waiting for the stitches in my belly button (and the glue) to disolve. It itched like crazy. I finally used nail polish remover on a swab to loosen the glue. It took about 7 weeks before all of the glue and itches went away.

Good luck to ya! Hang in with the Benadryl.

belly button/stitches

I know all the glue is gone. I am allergic to adhesives. So my doc had me remove the derma bond after 2 days home (3 days post op), it didn't cause any problems coming off so early. Plus at 2 wks they checked to make sure I didn't miss any in regions i could not see well.

So this irritation has to be the internal stitches...

7 wks huh? I am at 4 wks...

thanks,
