Venturing out

Hi Ladies,
I'm at 4 weeks now and doing so so. I've been home a month now by myself all day. Needless to say it's been rather boring ( I am really starting to enjoy Price is right and Family Feud.) I decided to try something quite foreign to me. I called up a lady from church. I don't know her really but she always seems so positive and upbeat. You know the type that just has fun everywhere she goes. Anyway, I called and asked her to meet me for lunch. She seemed surprised but said she would love to go. Who knows, she may be just the boost I need right now, it's a nice hour out of the house, and maybe even a new friendship. Wish me luck. I've never been this bold.

Getting out is great. I was so down and depressed before I could get out. It is a sign of freedom and healing. Enjoy the lunch and make a new friend. It will defintly give you a post op boost.

Good for you! I've rarely been disappointed when I've mustered up the nerve to reach out to others in this manner... I think that they were sitting at home alone, or had thought I was too busy with other friends and were scared to reach out to me themselves. The times I've done this we always ended up having a great time. Good luck and have fun.

Well, I just got back from lunch and I did have a very nice time. It wasn't too terribly scarey. The lady from church even suggested we do it again. Now it's time for a nap as I am exhausted.
