I am brand new to this site. I am 3 weeks post op so I have some questions. However, I thought I might try to share some warm fuzzies to the ladies whom are worried regarding pre- op concerned

Surrounding this surgery are a lot of questions and uncertainty. And because the discussion forums are the perfect place to ask your questions and get support, the members pitch in and help each other.

The great thing about the way this website works: If you are one day ahead of someone else, you can offer support. If you are two weeks ahead, 1 month ahead or 3 months ahead, you have your experience to share to help calm the fears and answer the questions of your HysterSisters.

The circle of support at HysterSisters goes on and on as you help another sister.

Please stop by the pre-op forums and reply to questions for our sisters who are frightened and have concerns as they face their surgery.

And please look for threads here in post-op forum area where your experience can be shared to help another member!

You will be helping your HysterSisters while you gain warm fuzzies in our circle of support!

It's good! And we thank you for giving your support to your sisters.

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Hello to my sweet Sisters,

Here are some of my feelings of gratitude for the HystersistersSisters community.

This revered site helped me through the scariest time of my life and I am thankful and grateful for it each and every time I visit.

A little back story about me.

I had a fibroid the size of a large grapefruit weighing about 1-1/2 pounds and on my initial biopsy 5 days before my surgery it showed benign dead tissue from the fibroid.

But, when I went in for my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy the surgeon performed a 5" vertical incision and the Pathologist found me to have Uterine Mullerian Adenosarcoma cancer which can hide and be very tricky to diagnose pre-op. By the grace of God it was limited to my Uterus although they also removed my Fallopian Tubes, Ovaries, Cervix and lymph nodes.

I prayed to my higher power and have been blessed with a fine outcome.

My cancer is an extremely rare, slow growing Stage 1B Uterine Mullerian Adenosarcoma which has a minuscule bit of information published or known about it other than the re-occurrence rate is less than 10% and rarely metastasizes.

The blessed news is that my brilliant surgeon got it all and I will need no chemo or treatment.

I will have check ups every 3 months and a CT scan every year and that will be my followup.

I felt terrified and completely alone until I found the Hystersisters site which has consoled me during my blackest moments and continues to be my incredible personal support system.

Now, I'm hoping that I can be of reassurance to other sisters during the stressful time surrounding their hysterectomies.

Sending love and prayers to all my sisters
Know there is light ahead!

Re: Circle of Support - Have you helped a sister today?

Really hoping to help! Please know this is just my experience but I wanted to share. My surgery ended today at 230. It's now 930. Since then I've had my catheter removed along with my iv as I am able to walk and pee! No narcotic pain meds. Just Motrin and Tylenol. Overall I feel so much better than I expected with my TVH. I have very light bleeding, am gassy (sorry!) and cramps kind of like a bad period. My nurse says I'll feel worse tomorrow as things start to settle but that's ok. I'm likely going home and will take it easy. I can feel I'm pretty beat up inside. Feeling really grateful that it's over. Best wishes ladies
