Gas pains?

The only pain that I've had since my surgery has been pain in my right shoulder and in the right rib cage. And it is mostly when I lay down. If I am sitting up the ribs don't bother me at all. And the shoulder pain is very light when I'm sitting up. Is this gas pain? How long should it last? I am three days post op today and just wondering how much longer I can expect this to go on and when I should get worried and call the doc.

Well, my motto is that you should call the doctor if you have any doubts. They get these same questions every day, so don't feel bad about calling. This is a rough week but just know that it gets better with every week--I slept in a recliner my first week and it seemed to help everything. I hope you feel better soon.
