Re: help - no one understands!

yup - i know my friends are just trying to be nice and want to comfort me, but I don't think I want them around so soon. I know the first few days are all about feeling sick, groggy from the medication, pain, and concentrating on getting our lovely bodily functions back into order. Not only that, but I hear the discharge smells bad and I guess I'm one of those types that doesn't like to be around friends unless my hygiene is good.

Re: help - no one understands!

See if they can come a week later.

How nice of them to think of you!
I spread my visits out.

A friend a day for 10 weekdays M-F.
I had them bring lunch every day.

Re: help - no one understands!

I don't do pain in public and did not want visitors in case I was going to be. I told everyone that I didn't want anyone at the hospital and to wait a few weeks before coming over. It turned out that I wasn't in pain but I still did not want visitors as I would feel obligated to sit and chat with them when I really wanted to lie down. My parents came over the night I got home (3 days post-op) because they were leaving town for several months and I couldn't wait for them to leave. I would suggest you play it safe by calling them and rescheduling it for at least a week and half or two post-op.

Re: help - no one understands!

I wished someone would call or want to come by. I've sent smoke signals out on FB, called , texted and e mailed friends I've been there for in their time if need and I can't even get a return acknowledgement.

Youre blessed. Njoy the love
Ive heard the care calendar is an awesome way to keep the camotion/ traffic down and regulated.

Best wishes and again. Njoy the LOVE.

Re: help - no one understands!

I agree.
I did.

I not only told them that they could come by, I allowed each of them to pick a day.

They could bring me lunch, or bring DH and I dinner, LOL.

Weekends were reserved for immediate family, then other relatives.

Re: help - no one understands!

I think I need to appreciate my blessings!

I'll bet if I asked people to schedule bringing things or helping they'd be more than happy. By not asking anyone for anything, they're all trying to find ways to be helpful or be a comfort.

I need to learn to ask, don't I. Sigh. SO not good at that.
