7.5 Months Post-op Swelly Belly

Hi Everyone,

I'm about seven and a half months post-op (complete hysterectomy), and still have a swollen belly. It's like fluid high up. I have a vertical scar, and the bottom of the swollen part is about where the scar starts. Did anyone else have this? Will it ever go away?

I'm at 18 months and still get it. I am also having ongoing issues with pain. I find when my pain is worse, the swelling is worse too.

4 mths post op w/ swelly belly. Also having significant bowel issues that I am now seeing a GI for. I think becaue I am a sweller, the intestines-colon swell with food-activity, causing pain.

Of all the things I was warned about, this was not one of them!!! I had a c/section in the past and it was NOTHING even close to my hysterectomy recovery. I don't know what I'm going to do this spring w/ clothing for work because I need a new wardrobe to accomodate my new tummy

I'm still wading yoga pants to work!! They are the only thing I can handle around my poor swollen aching tummy.

Ack. This is depressing!

Gosh, I know the SB thing is a bother!! One good thing is I usually wear elastic pants anyway so I can still wear my normal clothing!!

I guess I always thought one yr MAXIMUM but oh we'll, if I can get my GI issues sorted, it'll be a mere bother!

I am two years post-op and still suffering with swelly belly, mainly after I eat. I just had lunch and I can feel my stomach bloating and the start of gas pains. I find if I drink a peppermint tea or take peppermint degas tablets they bring it down a bit but the discomfort sometimes is defbilitating and I find that I say no to dinner invitations etc as I don't want to deal with it while I am out.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to see if there is some sort of solution to this, but I fear I already know the answer and that its something that I just need to deal with each day now.
