Upcoming hysterectomy 4/11: Just needing some sisterly support

Hi there!

My name is Angela and we are scheduled to have our surgeries on the same day!

I am very nervous as well. I know your pain....

I have been dealing with numerous fibroids for the past couple of years and the pain has become unbearable. I finally have my blood pressure somewhat under control, it still seems to run a little high, but my doctor has agreed I could finally have a hysterectomy. Did I say I was a little nervous???? I've also been diagnosed with Addison's disease so I'm nervous about having the surgery and needing steroids during the surgery along with my blood pressure being all over the place. I just want everything to go smoothly. I'm not concerned at all about any pain I may feel after surgery compared to what I've been feeling for the last 2 years, I'm ready for that.

Hello Angela! I'm Tisha. I am very sorry to hear about your dilemma. I have been knowing about my hysterectomy since February and it has been a very long wait! Which has made things a little tough to deal with. But it seems like the closer it gets the more anxious I am. My nerves are off the chain right now Even to the point it has got my bowels messed up horribly. I just ready for all this to be over and begin the recovery process. My doctor things that my chunky heavy periods and sore uterus is Adenomyosis. Sometimes I feel like I can actually feel my uterus when I'm walking. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm so scared I don't know what to do with myself. I've actually thought of cancelling today but I keep missing work and I can sick so often. I am anemic as wel and am hoping for a better immune system and higher iron level after my hysterectomy.

The pros are not out-waying the anxiety and fears.
