I'm nervous but looking forward to finally getting some relief! Jan. 13th can't come quick enough!

I agree! I am completely ready for it! Thank goodness mine is scheduled for 730 am, have to be at the hospital at 530 Friday morning because I would hate to sit around all day waiting! The only thing I'm nervous about is having my post op pain controlled but other than that , I feel like "bring it on!"

Princesses:

I'm just stopping by to cheer you all on.

For some of us, the scariest part is waiting for the big day, but we are here to cheer you on, You are stronger than you think - you can and will do this! Have confidence in yourself and in the skill of your surgeon. Try to think of the big picture - any that this surgery will one day be a memory that symbolizes your strength.

It really does help to keep busy doing things you enjoy and surrounding yourself with positive friends and family. You are in the home stretch. Staying positive can help reduce stress.

Take care and know you are not alone on your journey:

Soon you will be on your way to recovery and encouraging those in your position now.

Travel light for the hospital and remember comfy clothes and shoes to wear home from the hospital. Also remember a small pillow to wear under your seatbelt for the ride home. Additionally, this pillow will also help cushion the blows of little people and rambunctious pets, coughs, laughing and sneezing. You may also benefit by having several small pillows available for resting in bed. Sometimes, for those of us not used to sleeping on our sides, a long body pillow may prove the most comfortable. Today is a great time to double-check your "recovery nest" to make certain you have the items you need at your fingertips. Getting out of bed can prove a bit challenging at first, so you may want to have a bed rail, or, a sturdy chair or small table to steady you as you get up. Remember those non-slip slippers for marching around the house. Have light reading next to your bed and your favorite movies. And don't worry about anything you didn't get to clean or errands you didn't get to - concentrate on all you have accomplished to get this far.

Cant wait til its done and over with tomorrow. My period decides to show up 2 days early...smh!! Wasnt due til the day of my hysterectomy. I thought oh that would be great.....but to my surprise it decided to take me down a full memory lane moment before its gone for good. Im so glad for all the ladies who share their experiences on this website. I have been helped a lot to prepare and have a lot of ideas on things to expect for my big day. Im a lil anxious and a lil nervous. I have had so much to do and so lil time to do it all. Im tired mentally and physically. I wish i had a whole day off to rest before the surgery but it is what it is... hopefully i can get to bed early tonight or at least just rest my mind. I will be praying for all my fellow hystersisters who also will be having their surgery on Jan 13th as well. Be blessed

I'm ready for tomorrow! I should find out later today my surgery time and it's killing me trying to be patient and have a productive work day! I'm hoping they don't have to go in abdominally for anything and that they won't decide to keep me over night for anything, hospital beds are so uncomfortable!!! Thoughts and good vibes for all going in tomorrow!!

A huge thank you to those of you who have given us all great advice and for all your lovely and caring messages. This forum and my fellow Hystersisters have really helped me through this pre op process, especially with the anxiety.

My op is at 5pm tomorrow and I have to be at the hospital at 12pm - I have a complex medical history so they want me in a lot earlier than usual. I expect I will be back on this site during this long wait - it is a huge source of comfort :-)
