Use of KT (Kinesio) tape 5 weeks post op

Hi, I'm 5 weeks post a full abdominal hyst. Thank you all for the wonderful advice that has helped me each time I've had some weird, scary symptom!

I have a question about using KT (Kinesio) tape. I know people have used it on the scar, but has anyone used it to try to ease the pain and pulling of the area above the scar? I have some very hard lumps that start at each end of the scar and go diagonally upwards towards my hip. By the end of the day I have to walk around with my hands supporting my stomach, to stop these lumps from hurting, even if I don't do much all day. The ab binder doesn't help. Surgeon says this is normal, it's where he put the internal stitches, and that as I move I'm pulling the tissue around these areas. He says they will soften over time. I was thinking of using KT tape to see if it can hold all this together, and stop me pulling on the internal scar tissue. Has anyone tried that? I'd be really interested in how you did it, and whether it worked.

I'm planning to try it, and will report back.

I have heard of women using ace bandages which is what I need to do now that my binder no longer fits me properly. I am interested to hear how it works out for you and if others can chime in.
