Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
Summer,
I had the very same thing happen. My ovaries were asleep and didn't wake up until about week 4 or 5. I had night sweats, hot flashes, crying jags etc. All of this subsided by 6 weeks post op. So, hang in there. It won't be long until all of that is behind you!

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
Summer, had the same thing in the beginning, I was left with my right ovary, but still had the night sweats, crying over dumb commercials, movies, also the insomnia was just settled today! I bought the OTC products of Valerian root and Estroven to make myself feel better, I know I'm a few weeks ahead, but it does get better! Glad to just be out and walking without the darn rain outside! Loving it! Toni

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
My surgeon recommended black cohosh. It has really helped me. All those symptoms have gotten better with time.
Best wishes

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
Sometimes the overies go into surgical menopause, you might want to ask your doctor if that is what is going on and what might help kick start them. Had sweats the first few nights and then things leveled out, but I have read on this site of it taking longer.

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
I'm having the night sweats, I had an LAVH. Oddly, I had insomnia for years, now I don't, but I used/use an herbal supplement called Valerian Root, it helps. My Pharmacist recommended it.

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
I had my surgery 3 months ago and am having a terrible time with my sleep. I see the doctor on 3/13 to see what's going on. I remember reading that it could take 6 months to get everything regulated because of the surgery, but I can't wait 6 months -- I'm very tired.
I've been sleeping with the fan on.

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
I had the night sweats for about 2 weeks. For about a week after that I'd wake up roasting hot, and have to get up for a bit to let the bed cool off. Both things seem to have endd now, but it sure wasn't fun while it lasted! I worried I had an infection but was afraid to call my Doctor. Good for you that you did call!

and can really get you down when you're trying to recover. Sometimes, ovaries can take a while to "wake up" after the trauma of surgery. Some sisters have posted that their doctors put them on a short term HRT until their ovaries kicked into gear. Try sleeping in a cool environment - I find that helps me as well as keeping my neck and upper chest cool. A fan can also help.
Gravol is a great sleep inducer for me - I tried it last night and it was almost as good as my prescription sleeping pills. I have other friends who also use it sleep better.
I hope your doctor's visit goes well and you find solutions to your issues.

Sweats???? Trouble sleeping???
I had a LAVH LSO. At about day 7 or 8, I started having the hot flshes and severe insomnia. It lasted about a week. Dr. said it was the good ovary waking up and the anesthesia leaving my system. I rearranged my napping schedule, making sure I set an alarm clock so I wouldn't take long naps. I've got a bit of insomnia now, but it is getting better.
