Re: Pain while walking 1 wk post-op

Yes, this is normal. You probably also have a lot of swelling in your abdomen. For the first week post-op, I felt like I had swallowed a huge water balloon. A lot of that subsided during week 2. Right now, at one week post op, you should be up and walking around the house some to take care of your own personal needs, but you don't need to do more than that. Give yourself a little time and it will improve a lot.

Normal. I'm 3 weeks post-op now and still occasionally get that feeling at random times when I stand up.

Very normal at one week to be feeling this way. In fact expect it to last several weeks, but it will get better with time.

Re: Pain while walking 1 wk post-op

Very typical and if you think you can stand it get the belly binder. It kept everything in place for me while walking and once I was released to drive. I am now 5 weeks post op and I still use it.

Re: Pain while walking 1 wk post-op

What you are feeling is normal. I walked around for weeks holding my Stomache. Try to walk a little bit more everyday.

Good luck

Re: Pain while walking 1 wk post-op

Like others stated I would try the belly binder. It has been a life saver for me. Not sure what kind of incision you had but it is almost a requirement. I find that early on it gave me the support and confidence I needed to get around on my own. The support it gave made it easier to walk and helped with the heavy/pulling feeling. Check with your Dr and see if it would work for you.
