ct and colonoscopy showed enlarged thick colon with fluid?

Hello sisters,
I had my LSH on may 17 th.4 days ago I had lots bleeding from rectum following a virus. To the point that I was passing blood with just passing wind.I went to urgent care and Dr admitted me.Had a ct done and it showed a thick colon with fluid and recommened nuclear study.I had a colonoscopy next morning for what Dr descibed as a weird looking colon and all he said was it was enlarged.Well thank goodness I did find out none of this was related to my surgery, but when asked Dr stated no biopsy taken and I was prob just born that way? I have had several lap surgeries and a colonoscopy in past and never told of any colon abnormalities. He did take several stool samples and I have to go back next Wednesday. He told me just to continue miralax and add benafiber. It concerns me because I have had problems with contipation over the last couple yrs ad well as blood and mucus in stool. He also found mild hemorroids during colonoscopy.Has anyone else ever dealt with similar issues? Or have any ideas what this could be?IBS? Inflammatory bowel disease?

bowel issues post op...redundant colon anyone?

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else has been dx with a redundant colon.I had some rectal bleeding post op which lead to a 3 day hospital stay,ct scan and colonoscopy which showed a redundant and capacious colon and hemorroids.I have pain on my right side which I'm not sure if due to colon issues or hysterectomy. Also lots of swelly belly that seems to cause more pain when bladder is full and pain before bm that feels like I get poo running through my colon? It starts on right side then up under rib cage and then down left side with a burning Sharp pain then down into pelvis with burning fullness feeling. My tummy and back hurt most of the time.I've had a cause of diarrhea the other day which caused pain so bad I could barely stand up straight so went to urgent care he now suspects IBS and I'm set to see gastro on the19th.I also see my gyno on tues so will take all my tests to show him and see what he thinks. If anyone has a similar expierance or advice I would love to hear it.Thanks everyone.I'm so frustrated

Re: bowel issues post op...redundant colon anyone?

Have your gall bladder tested. The test sucks, but it sounds like yours isn't functioning. Also keep a diary of everything you eat and all pains and bowels. Be sure to include amount and consistency. This will be a huge help for the gastro. Good luck!

Re: problems with constipation?

Hello ladies,
Thought I would update for you ladies in waiting.I did have confirmed adenomyosis with heavy boggy uterus which could have caused some of the constipation. Also after a virus that brought on rectal bleeding have found I have a severely redundant colon which just means long which takes longer for everything to pass through.GOOD NEWS though miralax and benefiber now work and I have joined the super pooper club..lol..BAD NEWS they believe IBS and I have to see a gastro on the 19th
