Spotting 18 days DaVinci post-op

Hi Ladies,

I am just looking for some re-assurance (hopefully) that what I am experiencing is normal?

I had DaVinci surgery on Aug. 1st, had my uterus and cervix removed, kept both ovaries. I have been doing ok for the most part with only very light pink spots on the toilet paper periodically.

I had my 2 week follow up on Thu and advised the Doc of that and some other issues and he said everything I was experiencing is normal.

Doc did do a pelvic exam on me just to make sure everything was healing fine (and he said it was) and since that appointment I have noticed an increase in the very light pink spotting on the toilet paper.

Anyone else?

Thank you!

When I had my pelvic exam my doctor advised me that I could have some spotting afterwards. As long as you are not having heavy bleeding, and pain you should be okay. If you do experience these thing pleae call your doctor to be seen. Spotting could also mean your sitiches are dissolving also. Happy healing.

Thanks Dawnsy! No more pain than I've had before and I hope it just keeps getting better and better.

Happy healing and hugs to you! :-)

I had DaVinci and started spotting at 3 weeks and coninued on and off until abou 7 weeks. My Doctor said it was normal. I did notice it would definently happen after my exams.

Re: Spotting 18 days DaVinci post-op

Thanks, Princess Jasmin! I'm trying not to stress about it as now (tonight) I had a spot of red, not just pink. I have been more active the past few days and maybe I just need to take it easy some more and maybe this is a strong reminder that I'm still fairly fresh into recovery.

Yes try not to stress I know it is hard not to. But if it is worrying you call your Doctor Monday for your peace of mind and to be sure. Mine started on a Friday night I woke up during the night and felt something sticky and it was bright red spotting, I was terrified, and ready to call the on call Doctor. My husband calmed me down and told me to put on a pad and lay down and it slowed down and by the next morning was just pink light spotting. I had been more active that day. I had an appointment that Tuesday. Doctor did an examine, with mine he said it was the vaginal cuff being slow to heal. He said it was normal and for some reason not uncommon with the DaVinci. (I was glad then I didn't call him at 3:00 a.m. about this ) I kept spotting on and off and had one more time it was bright red. I finally stopped completly at around 7 weeks.

Re: Spotting 18 days DaVinci post-op

Hello again Princess Jasmin,

Almost 4:00 a.m. and I can't sleep...probably because I can't get my mind to shut off!? Of course the questions and worries always seem to pop up on a weekend and /or very late at night! Thank you again for the additional message and reassurance. My Doc hadn't told me the information yours did. Sometimes I think that because the doctors and nurses deal with this stuff on such a routine basis, they sometime forget that these situations are brand new to their patients and forget to tell us some of the situations that may occur. I am so glad I found this site and ladies, like yourself, to help put our minds at ease...and to givens something to read when I can't sleep and I don't want to wake the rest of the household. :-)

I'm a little nervous that I go back to work on the 27th, but we will see how it goes. I am a 911 dispatcher and I know my co-workers will keep an eye on me. :-)

Thank you again and I hope you are sleeping better than I am.
