What's morphine make you feel like? Looking for suggestions for a better med.

I have severe allergy to morphine so for both my D&C and my TAH last week I had Demerol. WONDERFUL! I felt more in control, although I did tell DH that I had to get the Christmas cards out...lol I can tolerate IV Toradol just fine, but within 15 minutes of my first oral pill at home I had such terrible stomach pains that the oral Darvocet wasn't touching. Had to come off that pretty quickly, and am still taking Darvocet 2x per day since I can't tolerate anything related to an nsaid.

If you are nervous about the morphine, talk to the A-man at the Castle before making a final decision. Mine have always been more than helpful in keeping me comfy. Good luck!
