My Severe Back Pain mystery solved

Last Thursday I finally saw my regular Dr. and I asked her why for almost two week did my back hurt so bad! Not only did my lower back hurt but it hurt behind my ribs and shoulder-blades. The Dr. that I saw 1st week post-op (not my regular Dr.) blamed my backache on hospital beds and not moving around as much as I did before surgery.

My Dr. told me that my back hurt bad because the Urologist had to put stints in my ureters to protect my kidneys during the surgery. The stints were removed after the surgery but putting them in and taking them out irritated my ureters (very thin tubes that drain urine into the bladder.) I KNEW it wasn't a normal backache or from the dang hospital beds! I LOVE my Dr. she is so good! I should had guess that it was something like that because I peed blood for two days after the surgery because of the stints, no wonder those poor ureters were irritated.

My back still hurts some but it feels a lot better than it did. I had more pain in my back then I ever had from the incision! That was just crazy and I was so mad and depressed because of my back hurting so badly. I can take a lot of pain but that was TOO MUCH!
