5 weeks post hysterectomy and pain returning

I'm 5 weeks post op as of today
From my abdominal hysterectomy. I do still have my ovaries. Yesterday I woke up in a lot of pain. Almost as bad as when I first got out of surgery. The pain persisted throughout the day. It seems like it goes from the center of my lower abdomen and bladder area to across my right side and then up and over my right hip into my back. The pain was so bad that I actually had to take one of the norcos they prescribed me when I came home from the hospital. (I haven't needed to take any of those since about 4 days after being released). I haven't done anything physically that would if prompted an exertion. I've kept it to light walking, no lifting etc. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have called my Dr and will see her this afternoon just to be safe.

Hi there! While I didn't experience that pain, I'm glad that you got in to see your doctor. Hopefully your doctor was able to shed some light on what may have been causing the pain. Keep us posted when you are able.

5 weeks post hysterectomy and pain returning

Went to the doctor yesterday for the pain. She said I overly stretched some
Of the internal sutures closest to the skin surface. Luckily I didn't tear anything and there was no blood or fluid build up. Was told to take it easy like I did the first week. Had to have stretched it in bed rolling from my side to my back.

I'm glad you posted this, because I am having the same thing. I'm a little over 3 weeks post op, and my left side hurts almost like it did my first few days out of the hospital. I have a call in to my doctor, hoping this is all it is! Did they do any x rays or anything to see that you stretched your sutures?

No she felt around my belly for any hardening or fluid build up and made sure I didn't have any blood under the surface of the skin. She said most of my sutures should be pretty much dissolved by now but the second layer, the ones between the muscles and skin are still dissolving and those are the ones I stretched. I have had a rough time with my right side from the start though. It has always hurt more than the left side.
