Post-removal leaking from suprapubic catheter site

Hi all,

I'm at 4 days post-op, and the doctor removed my suprapubic catheter yesterday since bladder training went really well. Yesterday was fine, but today I've had urine leaking from the suprapubic catheter "wound" in my abdomen. It's embarrassing, hard on my clothes and beddings, and frustrating.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions? I'm trying to go to the bathroom more often (several times an hour) and re-covered the site with a clear bandage.

Thanks, ladies!

Re: Post-removal leaking from suprapubic catheter site

Thanks! Unfortunately, all of the suprapubic catheter threads I can find don't discuss the leakage problem. I'll keep looking, though.
