TAH: would this be a fair statement about TAH recovert time?

Would it be a fair statement to say the initial recovery is about 8 weeks, and total recovery takes about a year?

Had my TAH March 8th 2012.
I find it SO hard to 'be good"
First three days home I was bending over, picking things up from floor.
Couldn't really rest, Finally I KNOCKED myself out with nerve pills.
Felt fine when I awoke.
Started the bending and stooping , Now have pains.
So disgusted with myself.
My dear Sis in law, is here helping my mother and I
Mom is 91 bless her heart.
Son 31, is FINALLY learning about responsibility.
That, in itself made it worth losing my uterus and ovaries.

Oh my.
Sorry about the long post, I don't know how to start a new one.
Recovery, I must STOP, STOP STOP trying to rush things.

Am doing the deep breathing and toe point and flexes, to help with circulation.

Very important, a Nurse friend tells me (for 12 weeks post op) to prevent blood clots, ugh.

Laying here earlier, thinking of the Hospital,
For me, it felt like a dream Vacation. :-).
