Life on the other side

I am wearing my crown with pride and feeling great! TVH/BSO on the 27th went very well...took almost 3 hours and when I woke up I had pain/pressure just above the hair line, an extremely dry mouth and that was about it. I have 3 small incisions. I did experience a little nausea several hours later but nothing real bad...just bad enough that they wouldn't remove the catheter and IV or let me try walking a little bit.

My catheter and IV were removed the next morning so I walked the halls just about every hour...had to hold my hands low on my belly because it kinda felt like things were gonna fall out...lol That evening, because I was doing so well they let me go off the 3rd floor and take a stroll outside with my fiance. I wasn't allowed to go home yet because for some odd reason I had no gas or gas pains. Weird because when I've had laproscopic assisted surgeries before I always had the gas pains.

I came home Thursday around 5 PM...I had finally started passing gas so they said I was good to go! I've been taking walks around the house and napping a couple times a day as I tire easily even though I'm not doing much of anything. Today I am able to stand up straight and able to get up and down almost like I normally would except when I sit down I do so a little gentler. I have a little tenderness but nothing that is requiring any type of pain medication.

What can I say? I feel great! Oh! And I had no spotting at all...not even right after surgery! I will continue to take it easy as I don't want to push myself...like they say...you only get one chance to heal....besides....I think my fiance would tie me up if I tried to do to much! LOL

Thanks ladies for all the support you have all provided while I was preparing for the day I'd wear my crown. You are all phenomenal women!

Welcome home! Now be a good princess and remember your training: lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, rest, take short walks around the house, and rest.

We'll look for all further recovery updates, etc on the PostOp forum.

Best wishes for a smooth, uneventful recovery.

Natasha,

Glad to hear you're home and doing well. I had my surgery the same day as you and things are going well for me too. I, also, had very little gas and my body did not seem to want to let what I did have pass. Finally I did on Thursday morning and got to go home.

Hope all continues to go well with you.

Best wishes,
