awww sorry to hear you need this surgery so young honey xx But believe me the waiting is the worst part. Yes there will be some pain but it will be well controlled and nothing that you cant cope with...as to looking after such young children youre going to need a lot of help for one you wont be able to pick them up for a few weeks so that will be very difficult for you especially with having one so young. Do you have someone around you that can stay and help you??
good luck hon will be thinking of you

I am having surgery on July 27th and I am very SCARED myself. I am having a TAH. I am 34 and have 2 children. I am unsure what to expect and fear the worst. I am willing to discuss any fears with any one and maybe we can help one another be strong.

I'm sorry you girls have to go through this at your ages, it makes everything a little harder when you have small children to tend to.
I'm 48 - with two grandchildren that I watch three days a week, but their mother is making other arrangements for the time I won't be able to keep them.
My surgery is also the 27th - and even though I am older than you I'm still scared. Afraid of everything - trying to get everything in order. I read somewhere about having a control issue - and I'm sure I have one too. I don't even want to give up control with the anesthesia - ha. Don't think I will be in control there.
Best of luck, keep hanging in there and praying. Everything will work out fine for all of us.

Okay. Hopefully my experience will help put your minds at ease!! I had a TVH on July 12, a Monday. I was off pain meds by Wednesday and driving by Friday. The worst complication I've had is a yeast infection and some gas.
You won't be able to pick your kids up, but you can sit down and have them crawl up on your lap, no problem! The best thing about having it done vaginally is that you won't have the big incision. I'm thankful for that every single day!! With small kids, it will be absolutely critical for you to get in the habit of NOT picking them up no matter what!! That will be hard, but you'll learn to squat down to them or sit down and have them climb on! If you lift too much or do too much, you could end up in the emergency room or back in the castle!
I'm 8 days post-op and I'm doing so much already! I'll go back to work next week!! Your kids will want to help you and they'll probably get into the new habits before you do! Just take it easy so you'll be able to be there with them and not back in bed! You'll do great!
Good Luck All!
Michelle

You'll definitely need some help with the little ones. (My personal challenge will be to keep my 3-year-old ds from jumping on my tummy afterward).
Hope you can find someone to come in and stay with you. My (will be) 16-year-old dd will be coming to stay with us for 6 weeks after my surgery (she lives with her dad, but in the same town so she doesn't have to switch schools or anything), and it will be a godsend.
Do the children go to daycare? I really think you'll need someone around most of the time for a few weeks at least. Best to you.

pre-op fears
Hey guy's I am so glad I logged on. I thought to much internet was making me more fearful so I have been trying to not read or talk about it. I am also 32 years old and August 2nd I will have a TAH / BSO with a vertical ins. I don't like the idea of surgery at all and going under general anst. I have two children at home that will be taken care of, I just don't want surgery. Sometimes I wonder if I am making the right decision. I've had endo. for a long time, right now my dr. said I don't know what a normal life is. Cyst and endo. really slowly creep up on you. I just had my (hopefully) last visit from aunt flo and it was horrible. Is it normal to have an aray of conflicting emotions this close to surgery date? Just to let you know I have really enjoyed reading your post-op stories, those do ease my concerns.
P.S. Are TAH / BSO more pianful than TVH? What about the recovery time?

Cheerios -- it's tough not being able to care for the little ones for a while after surgery (my ds is 3 and I have a dd who will be 16 who's moving in to help for a while), but just think of all of the GREAT years you can give them once you're healed! There could be any number of things that could sideline you for a few weeks -- a car accident, a fall -- this just happens to be something you can plan for.
Just take care of yourself! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
Just think it will soon be over and you'll be recovering.
