8 weeks post hysterectomy pain

I have been feeling very uncomfortable while sitting and not sure why this is happening now when at my 6 week internal check up was totally fine. Anyone else feel very achy in vaginal area while sitting?
I have not inserted anything in vagina or had penetration yet.

Re: 8 weeks post hysterectomy pain

At 8 weeks, even though you had a checkup two weeks ago, you are still healing internally. That's a process that can take 4-6 months, or longer for some. I didn't buy into that until I had several more months in the rear-view mirror.

We tend to view healing as the scar tissue which first formed getting stronger over time, but that's not the case at all. Instead, earlier scar tissue gets replaced throughout healing by newer scar tissue, and the earlier stuff dissolves. That's when we're likely to feel twinges and zingers. Too, if we've stepped up our activities, our internal incisions might be letting us know they're there. I had dull cramp-like aches at 8-1/2 weeks after power-washing the porch; at 12 weeks after heaving a 24-pack of soda over my head on a high shelf, and at 5 months after a short (<5 mins) but intense abs workout.

Take it easy for a day or two. If you have any lingering concerns, it's okay to run it by your doctor's office. They'll know the right questions to ask.

Re: 8 weeks post hysterectomy pain

Me too! I am at about the same healing stage, my surgery was Jan 18th. I have been back at work since March 2, and I feel weaker and more uncomfortable than I did at a week post-op. Part of it I am sure is because at work, although I am sitting, which is pretty much what I was doing at home, (seems harmless enough right?) I can't just get up and walk around like I could at home, I am expected to stay at my computer and do my work. At home I was able to get up, walk around, go lay down if I felt like it, etc. Someone recommended I get a "Donut" pillow sold for people who have had surgery for hemroids (Spelling?) and put that on my work chair, placed so there is no pressure "right there". I will let you know if it helps me!
Good luck!

Thanks that makes me feel a little better. I too thought of getting a donut. I'll be interested to know if you find it helpful
