Recovery after TVH

Hi Everyone,
I'm having a TVH on the 16th and was wondering what the recovery would be like. I've read about the recovery for people who have TAH but have heard that TVH is a lot quicker. What will recovery really be like? I have 4 dd's and really need to know what to expect from recovery because I'm really involved in their school and stuff and I want to be there for them. Will I be able to?

Thanks,
J

Recovery after TVH

I had a TVH on 1-16-07 and was home the next afternoon. I was up and doing things on my 2nd day home and really not in any pain that my motrin wouldn't take care of. I was back to doing laundry (not lifting anything that I couldn't lift with 1 hand). I have 3 DD's and they were actually quite a bit of help. I was able to do almost everything that I was doing before the surgery but please rest when your body tells you to, you can overdo it before you know it and if you're like me, you'll spend 2 days on the couch recovering.

Best wishes

Wendy

Recovery after TVH

I also had a TVH and had no problems with recovery at all. I was up and around doing light things by the 2nd day also. I have a dd that was 16 at the time so she was a big help doing the heavy things that I couldn't. I had no pain at all. I did have a bit of gas that was uncomfortable but nothing to the extent of taking any meds for it. I could drive by the 2nd week and was glad to be able to get out of the house. I hope this helps you some and good luck on your surgery, keep us posted on how you are doing.
