three days pre-op

I don't know if I'm having constant panic attacks. I'm nervous then ready. That goes back and forth. I have had a constant pain in my left chest, praying it is just stress. Is it a bad thing to just get my husband to come for surgery. My Mom wants to come, as much as I love her, she stresses me out. Any advice? She wants to do so much, but we have already got the kids covered and well I'am her daughter, I would want to be there too. Trying to make her,my husband, and myself happy. Go in for blood work tomorrow. Surgery is at 6:30 friday. Would love any advice!!! Thanks for reading.

Hi Peggy- My husband came with me, and yes, my mother also wanted to come to the hospital. Originally I thought not a good idea, but she is my mom and I told her if she felt better being there, then okay. She came and was great company for my husband. The surgery was not too long- about 1 1/2 hrs. After I was prepped for surgery, they told me someone could come in for a few moments. They got my husband and brought him. (They had a one at a time policy). I told my husband that I thought Mom should stay in the waiting area, as I thought it might get too emotional. It was a good choice, and before I knew it, I was in recovery and being wheeled to my room! My mom does not stress me out though and is one of my best friends. I knew that she would be home worrying if she wasn't with my husband waiting at the hospital. Good luck to you. (All the pre-stress is totally normal too- you sound like me!)

Hi Peggy, I feel you girl. I booted my mom out of my last lap because she's a nurse and I really can't handle her honkerblonking off the people with the knives. lol. I am debating the hysto, trying to hold out as long as possible. Family unsupportive, thinks I'm just not toughing it out enough. Mom's the worst one. Haven't scheduled the hysto yet but after two months of bleeding I'm about there.

Peggy-
Count your blessings, I expect to hear my fathers feet shuffle in some time before they wheel me off. I am in your boat, I am his daughter and he worries about me and loves me and wants to make sure I am ok. But it makes me a little uncomfortable having him there for my "girl things".
Take all the support you can get and I am hoping for your speedy recovery, I will keep you in my thoughts.
