LAVH 5th day since hysterectomy - back pain

So fifth day and having back pain. Is this normal. Hurts to poo, but it happens. Also walking slowly and taking it easy. But what's with the back pain. Anyone know?

I had my surgery last Tuesday and have been experiencing back pain too. My theory is because I can't "suck in my stomach" to tighten my core, my back is taking more of the brunt than usual.

Somebody else may can tell you better, but two things come to mind. You could be experiencing pain from the way you were positioned during operation and/or from the gas that was used to inflate the abdomen. Hth.

I sorry to hear your back is giving you problems

All the sisters are right. You are using your back muscles more due you sore abdominal that have been cut. Or have those 3 holds from surgery. It will pass. Try an heating pad on your back for relief.

I had back pain for a few days. Its the way we're positioned at surgery & our abs are not as strong, so we put pressure on our backs. I was given a prescript for 800 mg ibrophrophen post op. I didnt take Norco prescribed. Ibrophrophen is anti-inflammatory so it also helped my back.

If youre having other issues w bowel movement, get on stool softeners, hydrate, lil walks inside. See my other posts re gas & bowel movements. Oh, lovely issues we now have to talk about!

Heating pad, ice packs are great friends during recovery. It gets better!
