7 wks postop w/belly button pain

I was released last week from dr. Today I got a really sharp ache over and to the left of my belly button. If I barely touch it, it is a stabbing pain. The dr nurse doesn't think it is anything to do with the surgery. I had a laproscopic one. So it is right over and around the incision. She said to go to my reg dr or er. It hurts but I don't know if bad enough for er. My reg dr nurse(of course dr was gone) said that since it hurt when I walk and laugh I should go get it checked out. Does any of this sound familiar?

I am about 4 weeks out of surgery and feel the same as you. Never had the feelings before so I contribute them to the sugery. I do feel as though you have to give yourself time to heal and it will not happen all that soon so I just hold my belly when the sharp pains start and it does seem to help some. Remember to tell yourself "I need to heal inside, this takes time" Deep breaths help some too.
Before you know it you won't even feel them...their gone.

Of course, checking again with your gyn doc won't hurt either.

Smile..your onto the less complicated part of your life!!

7 wks postop w/belly button pain

Hi Eleanor!
I had two different laparoscopies and remember similiar pain around my belly button, but mine felt more like a sharp pain if i pulled the wrong way - i did not have it just from touching it. I think it is worth the trip to the ER, just to make sure it isnt anything serious. Better safe than sorry!
take care of yourself..
