resistance training after prolaspse surgery?

I love that this threadline has gotten some new activity. However, I find the news a little disappointing/depressing but understand why everyone is being cautious. I, too, am no superwoman (I only ballsquat with 10# in each hand), but working out (10 years) is part of who I am. I'm also not what you would consider thin but I enjoy feeling strong and it's amazing how mushy my quads have gotten in only 6 weeks. I am planning on speaking to my surgeon about this even though I believe, as one poster intimated, that this is not going to be his area of expertise.

resistance training after prolaspse surgery?

Well after reading a lot of posts in this forum I think my life is going to go off in a way different direction with regards to excercise and resistance training. I am a gymnastics coach by occupation, and was until recently training for a come back in the Sports Acrobatics department. That will I think become a part of my history as I dont think I'll be able to left my partner (she is about 90lbs) So I think I'll take up swimming or something cause I dont want to risk furhter prolapses

I had my bladder re-prolapse at 11 1/2 weeks - funny I was waiting until 12 weeks to lift my bowling ball. When I have it fixed again - I will insist on mesh and wait 6 months to do anything - just to be sure.

resistance training after prolaspse surgery?

I have been reading the replies to this thread with interest. I am due to have a TVH with A & P repairs and primary repair of enterocele, which my surgeon feels are probably genetic in origin, on Monday.

At the moment I am fairly active doing pilates 2/3 per week and yoga 2/3 a week together with a fair amount of walking. I am very eager to resume these activities as soon as I can after surgery but am getting rather discouraged by the number of people who seem to get a re-occurence of their prolapses once they start exercising again.

I am also not sure how much I can rely on my doctor for advice as I am not altogether sure if they are all fully clued up on exactly what pilates and the various forms of yoga entail.

I would be really grateful if anybody has any first hand knowledge or if they can recommend an appropriate source on information.
