Plastic Surgery

I am scheduled for surgery on 8-7-03. I am concerned about the "swelly belly" I have read about and am comtemplating plastic surgery.

Has anyone had a tummy tuck at the same time as their hysterectomy?? Can this be done? Or is it too much for your system at one time????

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

several of us are having and have had the tt at time of hyst, go to search and pull up tummy tuck or abdominoplasty and read all the previous threads on it...............best to ya..............

I did it and I'm very glad I did. My GYN and PS coordinated their schedules. I wore a binder for 4 weeks following my surgery to keep everything tight and flat. Very little swelly belly, but after the 4 weeks and no binder I would swell a bit if I would overdo it. I think the binder really helped me because it supported things. I was not allowed to stand up straight for 2 weeks following the TT and that really was hard on my back. Then he wanted me to stand straight and ouch, that was not easy. I went to a wedding at 3 weeks and was still having trouble standing straight but tried to hide it. Feel free to email me if you want to ask any questions. I'd be glad to help.

Hi, I am also scheduled for a TT with my TAH. The PS agreed to work with the GYN on my surgery date. PS said I'll be o.k. For me I look at this as a feel better gift to my self after all the years of menstrual problems, and giving birth to three children. My PS also had a payment plan option.

I had posted a similar query. I called the plastic surgeons in my local phone book to see if I could get a tummy tuck done with TAH and did not get good response, the most common were not doing the surgery in the hospital, a few no appointments for months. I am still checking.
