TLH WARNING: Don't lift too much!

I had a 5 lb weight limit for the six weeks after my TLH, BSO, A-P repair. I really tried to be good. Even weighed things around the house before surgery so I'd know what was over the limit.

At my 6-wk post-op check the doctor said I had a few stitches that didn't hold in my vaginal cuff. That was why I was still having a small amount of discharge. I had to go back a couple days later for more surgery. He had to put a bunch more stitches in. I had to be out of work for an additional three weeks. He told me that I apparently had over done things at some point in time. Probably because I lifted the 2-yr old grandbaby a few times. It wasn't like I lifted him very far up, I didn't pick him up and carry him around. Just like from the ground to the car seat or to his booster seat at the table. And, I didn't do that until it had been four weeks.

So ladies, be careful! Don't over do it! Don't lift!

Thanks for the advice. My weight limit is 10 lbs. for 6 weeks. I surely don't want a setback, and I start back to work on Monday. My one-year old grandson is a big boy and when he came over to visit the other day and as much as I wanted to pick him up I knew I shouldn't just yet, so just gave him hugs and kisses.
