Re: Please help.......

My post op paperwork said baths could resume after twenty four hours. Personally, I won't sit in water until my doc clears me for sex. The reason for that is I was told no swimming or water activities in pools or other bodies of water for eight weeks. I don't know why one would be okay and the others not, so I will just be cautious.

Hope this helps a bit. Ask your doctor and see what he/she says.

Re: Please help.......

I had LAVH 6 weeks ago. My doctor told me that it is best to wait until I am checked after my 6 week appointment. I too love my baths, but I decided that it wouldnt be worth the risk of infection or to have a set back.
It is interesting to me that so many doctors differ in opinion on this.

Re: Please help.......

Doctors have differing opinions on this. Could you call your doctor's office to find out? Hopefully your doctor will give the okay for a bath.

Re: Please help.......

My Dr said 2 weeks for bath or swimming. I was glad to be back in my bath tub, showers just don't do it for me. Each dr is different though, check with yours to see.

Re: Please help.......

My doctor told me 6 weeks... But each one is different,
In my theory, I have stitches in there, and I'm afraid of water ( bath water) getting up in there and causing infection.
I still haven't had sex either and it will be 7 week this thursday..
I'm not wanting anything to mess up that cuff.. lol

Re: Please help.......

I was cleared to take a bath once I got home but there was NO way I could get in and out of a tub. Showers only for me.

Re: Please help.......

I hear you on this one. I keep looking at my tub and bubble bath longingly. Lol I'm so scared of messing something up that I'm still using the antibacterial stuff I had to use before the surgery on my incisions. Lol. I want so badly to test some outercourse just too make sure everything is still working. I think I'll end up waiting even after doc says its okay. It's like my body is a stranger too me right. Don't know what it can or can't do. Its really comical. I new parts (the cuff) I'm so curious to see what's that's about. Has anybody else felt like you had a new body?

Re: Please help.......

From what I can discern from the posts on here, it is the new top to our vagina if our cervix was removed. Is that correct?

Paxton 88, I'm like you about my body. As time goes by I worry about whether or not things will be working the same...lol...scary
