uterine cancer

Dbear,
I too heard the "you are very young to get Uterine Cancer".I sort of had a similar experience to yours, I Went in for a D&C for fibroids that lasted an hour longer than my TAH a few weeks later for the surprise of uterine cancer. The TAH surgery was a breeze compared to what I had already been through. (Although the recoup is a little tougher the first couple days, but it gets progressively better each day!!!)

The 22nd is my 44th birthday AND my 7 week check up from my own TAH/BSO. I will definately add you to my own thoughts on that day. Hang in there. I know it seems really scarey now, but we'll all be praying for you. Don't forget to read all the pre-op stuff you can on these boards for the hospital days. I wish I would have found this site BEFORE my surgery, so just being here you are one step ahead.

uterine cancer

Dbear,

I guess you'll be going in for your surgery tomorrow, so I don't know when or if you'll ever see this, but I thought I would add my support. I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc endometrial cancer in May, 2000 at the age of 41 (like many others who have posted, "too young for uterine cancer). My life is just about back to normal, except for some hormonal issues. You WILL get through this! Write back after your surgery, and you'll get lots of support!

dbear-

i'm not as young as you are (just turned 49) but i still heard the same thing about being too young and "not the type" to get uterine cancer. alot of us on this board are "not the type" it seems.

my prayers will be with you. be as upbeat as you can and try, try, try to relax as best you can. good luck to you and when you're back at home, let us know how you're doing.
