Pelvic pain

I have a really high tolerance for pain. When I mentioned to my family doc that I was still feeling pelvic pain, she says I need to go back to my GYN to rule out any surgical complications. Thing is; I'm really ticked at the GYN and feel that I was lied to about this process. So what do I do?

Re: Pelvic pain

Can you get all your files/op notes and get an opinion from another gyn?
Sorry you're still having pelvic pain.

Re: Pelvic pain

Yeah I guess I can do that, I'm just frustrated. And don't want to start down another road with another gyn. I'm thinking I'll make an appointment see what she says, tell her my fam doc is taking over HRT care and then go from there. I just think she'll tell me, the pain isn't reproductive related or it's emotional. I don't know, feel very much like the pain I felt in ovary prior to surgery. Thanks eyesofbloo

Re: Pelvic pain

I'm so sorry. I understand your frustration. I'm kind of between docs right now and relying on my GP at this point till I get things straightened out. That sounds like a plan...see what the Gyn says and then maybe you can take that info (or lack therof) to another gyn...because it sounds like you're not confident in your physician, and you need and deserve to find someone who will help you.

Re: Pelvic pain

The thing is, I was really confident wiith her, before the surgery. I've been with her for 8 years and I had always felt like she was easy to talk to and I was able to share concerns with her and she always took her time and listened to what I had to say. When I went in for my annual this year, I knew there was a problem. She spent 1 1/2 hours with me and my husband, between the pelvic exam and ultrasound and discussions. We all talked openly and honestly. I asked what I thought were all the right questions. It wasn't until afterward that I found out about an option that I should have known about years ago. Which could have led me down a different path. At first I thought she didn't know the option of a compounding pharmacist existed. Then I find out she did, she just doesn't agree with it. For years I asked for alternate hormone therapies and she told me there were none. Now I find out about this option, she should have given me the option, her pros and cons and let me decide for myself what I should or shouldn't do. I'm afraid given my emotional state if I go in to see her, I'll either start yelling at her, LOL. Or start scying uncontrollably. Thanks for lending me your ear/eyes, shoulder! It helps to put it out there instead of dwelling on it internally.!

Re: Pelvic pain

This is a really common situation unfortunately. I have had multiple docs who had an opinion about me and that I needed to do what they wanted. I have had multiple problems since surgery and have changed numerous docs because of lack of trust with them. I guess I would try to see her, get her opinion and then go back to gp if you don't agree. Your gp would probably be able to refer you to someone else if you need it. I hope that you can get what you need. Sorry you are having this problem. Believe me, I sympathize. I have been lucky with some docs and found some who I trusted who were just a little less competent than I thought or uncaring. Good luck. Sending lots of
