dVH/RALH 3days post op

Well ladies I'm on the other side. And it is strange! I'm slow, in some pain. I just had my first bowl movement and it started some vsginal bleeding. I called the dr and was told that's normal. It was a hard movement and was honestly the most painful I've ever had. I've been taking stool softeners and gummy fibers. That wasn't enough apparently. Not to be tmi but that was a painful experience! I feel much better now though ! Walking slow. Trying to stay in bed and walking alternately. Allready bored. I'm used to being busy! Just take it slow ladies- it gets better every day. Hugs

Welcome home! Are you drinking plenty of water in addition to taking the stool softeners and gummy fibers? They need water to work well.

I know it's hard because it can be boring, but make sure you do get enough rest during this early part of your recovery. You'll be feeling much better before you know it!

Thanks! I need to learn to relax more! I opened my bellybutton incision by accident and am now trying to stop it from bleeding! I've been up and down too many stairs is half my problem! Trying to make myself take it easy. It will get better each day, I'm sure.

If you opened your incision, please call your doctor asap or go to the ER. Please get back to us with what happens.

Dr said keep gauze pads on it and it will stop bleeding. It has. I'm being really careful now though. It's frusterating but I just have to take it easy. hugs
