UAE: successful or not?

I need to know:

anyone out there that had to revert back to or had to proceed to a hysterectomy because their UAE (or UFE) failed?

I am asking at such a late date, sorry, but need to get some insight on real experiences.......MY Op. is on for Wed., May 15th.

I have no experience with this but am bumping it up. Maybe someone will come along and be able to answer your question.

I did have the option of UAE or hysterectomy. Turns out after pathology came back UAE wouldn't have helped me. I don't know your history but I know there are some posts on here about women who did go through UAE and turned around to have a hysterectomy. The thing with UAE is that it is not a guarantee. You will still have periods and if you have an enlarged uterus it could take several months before you see results. It usally requires repeated MRI's (expensive) and sometimes insurance won't cover it because I've read that it can costs just as much as a hysterectomy and some say it's experimental. Having a hysterectomy is major surgery but it does not mean you have to lose ovaries if they are healthy and the dr agrees they can stay. I did see your post in the post op side.
