pain in legs

I don't know if I am posting these right because I can't find my original one. So here it goes again. I had vaginal hysterectomy on the 2nd and I am having severe pain in my legs on the sides right below my hips. I have tried everything to relieve it and nothing is working. Heating pads, not laying on my sides, walking, pain meds. Is this a sign of something serious or is this to be expected? Please Help!!

Well, my guess is that you might have strained muscles from being in stirrups during the surgery. I am also a bit sore in my hips but it isn't severe. If you have severe pain anywhere this close to your surgery date, I think you should call your doctor or get to an ER to be examined, just to be sure it isn't anything serious. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much. I am a very active person and this taking it easy is so hard for me. My stomach is not hurting no where like my legs do. I think I would feel like a million bucks right now if it weren't for my legs. Thanks again for your advice.

I am three months post op and still have pain in my right leg. It aches like a toothache at times. Hubby says I am favoring it from my other leg. It hurts tonight as we speak. I just took some pain meds for it hoping it goes away. How long should it last?

I think you dear ladies should at least talk to your Dr.s about your leg pain..there has been alot of talk about DVT on this site please be safer then sorry!

What's DVT? OOOhh.. Deep Vein Thrombosis? yeah, that wouldn't be good. I am terrified of that happening. They say that the risk peaks at 6 weeks. I'm going to be white knuckled with worry that entire week.
