bladder "pulses"

I had a TVH with A&P on Jan 14....my GYN said that I healed perfectly...but I still have a question about my bladder...if I stand for too long, I get a pulse in my bladder, that if I don't use my muscles, it feels like I may urinate...I went to my primary today and she said that there is no infection and no blood in the urine...we are in a wait and see mode now...if there is no recovery soon, I will get a referral to a urologist....has anyone else had these "pulses"? It does not happen often, but enough times that I need answers...

Re: bladder "pulses"

That sounds like spasms. I had my TVH, A&P and sling on 3-23-09, so Im only 2.5 weeks out and I still have bladder spasms on occasion. I saw my urologist yesterday and he told me I could have occasional spasms for around 3 months that lessen with time. I wish I could be more help. Have you been referred to a urologist?

Re: bladder "pulses"

That's great that you already checked to see if you have an infection. Sounds like bladder spasms to me too. Mine started at about week eight and have gradually subsided over time. I used Azo Standard on the days when the spasms were happening with frequency and had great luck with it.

Re: bladder "pulses"

My spasms started at week one after my TAH/BSO. The Dr gave me some medicine(not cheap stuff either so when the samples run out I will have to try something else!). It really helped, turned my pee blue(sorry for over sharing). It is very common to have bladder spasms after any hysterectomy.
Hope it gets better soon!
