shopping!

I am going in for my tah/bso in three weeks, so as any good princess in training does, I went shopping!
I found some very loose, comfy jammies at Target, and the perfect little pillow for my tummy. I also bought some colorful permanent markers so friends who visit can sign my pillow for me...
Is there anything else I may need to remember to get?
I am totally calm (so far!) and I have this wonderful site to thank for that - you ladies are the best!!!

Hugs, an awesome idea to have visitors sign your pillow, wish i had of thought of something like that. Well you sound as though you are pretty on to it. The only things I would reccomend would be a heat pack for when you get home, these things are just brilliant for soothing aches etc, and chapstick, a must. maybe a few sweet treats for you when you feel like having a sweet. If you do not have radois in hospitol a radio/cassette would be good.
Keep us posted on how it all goes, best of luck you will do well. Hugs Vicki

shopping!

I second the chapstick idea. You will want some sort of lip balm near by. I used mine a lot! I bought several pairs of new jammies...I never wore them in the hospital but lived in them for the first 2 weeks after surgery. ) I bought some bright pink fluffy slippers too. Those I wore in the hospital when I started to walk. Everybody got a big kick out the slippers.

Best wishes to you!

eye pillow/mask

Hi! I have a silk eye pillow that is filled with lavender and flax seeds. I use it every night, very relaxing. I brought it to the hospital and found it helped me to sleep. Hospitals are rarely dark or quiet. Of course, I had to position myself just right, not sitting up too much, or else it would just slide off my face! An eye mask might be better!

Now that I'm home I'm just wearing jammies and a sweatshirt, heavy socks and slippers (it's snowing here in New England!).

It was good to have travel-size shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. My doc gave me permission to shower two days after my surgery. It felt wonderful.

The only other thing I used that I brought was face cream.

Best wishes -

- Flo
