Re: 5 days post hysterectomy - urination issues

I wa given this advice from anothe .hystersister and it worked for me. Stand to pee....in the shower or over the toilet like you are using a public restroom. I had to have a catheter because I would only pee a little at a time. Once I started standing, I emptied completely. Took a few days for my bladder to get it right without standing. My theory is my bladder was crushed by my uterine issues so it became trained to only empty about 200cc since that was all it was used to holding. Good luck ladies!!!

Re: 5 days post hysterectomy - urination issues

Hi!
I had my LASH one week ago today, and my doctor did a scar revision by my csection scar after taking my uterus out from an incision there. I was able to keep my left ovary and cervix. I stayed one night in the hospital and suffered from nausea and migraines from the Percocet. I tried Tylenol 3 and had the same effects. So I switched to 600mg of Advil and have been on that every 6 hours. I've also had to pee much more than before, but last night was but as bad. I was freaked out about this, and asked my friends who've had hysterectomies and they said it passes. Thanks goodness! Urinating was very hard to do at first, but now I'm ok. I've taking Miralax and MOM since I returned home on Wednesday and finally had my first BM on Saturday and every day since. Hooray for poopie! I'm concerned about what I heard you all call "swelly belly." When does that go away???

I hope you all feel a bit better today! Hugs!!! Xoxoxo

Re: 5 days post hysterectomy - urination issues

Just today I started having issues. Feel like I have to #2 and I go and pee about 2oz and nothing else . Been in the BR about 20 times today and I am so frustrated and sore from sitting there. Ready to cry

Newbie here~ Sorry, I posted this in the wrong forum yesterday. I meant to post it in my post op thread.
I have had to pee more than usual as well since the surgery. After researching, I read that this will calm down over time. Hugs, ladies!
