Re: Low low iron, feeling week
There is a liquid iron called SSS Tonic...you can find it at small drug stores. I would take at night...it doesn't taste great but it doesn't make you as sick as iron pills. (Something to try)

Re: Low low iron, feeling week
Wow, that is a LOT to deal with at one time, 1goofy1.
PinkTech is right. The type of iron makes all the difference and I know that from experience.
I saw a naturopathic doctor to get me in the best health before surgery. She switched me from the hard-to-digest, constipation-causing ferrous sulfate iron, which my insurance company provided, to the easily-digested Thorne Research Iron Picolinate, which I ordered via Amazon. I also took Floradix Liquid Iron for the first 6 weeks (The Vitamin Shoppe then found it for less at Amazon. It's costly but it works well and fast). Both are easy on the system and absorb really well. Within 3 weeks, all of my lab work showed a marked improvement, and within 3 months everything was normal or just outside of normal despite taking only 75 mg per day. I took 650 mg per day of ferrous sulfate iron for YEARS and was always very anemic and feeling sick. Despite bleeding heavily every month, my levels stayed close to normal with iron picolinate, which made all the difference in recovering well from surgery. I'm glad I ignored my original GYNs thinly-veiled attitude when I told her I would see an ND before deciding to have surgery.
Perhaps you can ask your doctor to prescribe a better absorbed iron or check out the brand I've mentioned above. Good luck with your surgery. I hope you see some relief soon.

Re: Low low iron, feeling week
If you can try and see a naturopath. I saw one last week and have stocked up on lots of vitamins and tonics to help prepare my body for the surgery and for the recovery. I started on liquid iron four weeks and it took a good two weeks to start feeling slightly normal again. Good luck
cheers
