Re: How long does it take to lose all the hormones

I think if difers some women say it hits them while still in the hosptial. I started having hot flashes at about 3 1/2 weeks. I am at 8 weeks today and besides occassionaly feeling a little blue the hot flashes have been my only problem, which so far they don't really bother me.

Re: How long does it take to lose all the hormones

I started having cold flashes/hot flashes about the 5th day after surgery.......... and night sweats too. (I am on my 8th day post Op.) I am tolerating it though. It's really been my only issue to deal with too : )

Re: How long does it take to lose all the hormones

I am at 6 weeks and my follow up was yesterday. I asked my dr. If i had any hormones left at this point amd he said while everyone is different....probably not by this point. I have had hot flashes but definitely nothing i can't handle. I dont want HRT and he fully supports that but did say to keep up on my calcium and vitamin D.

Re: How long does it take to lose all the hormones

My doctor is not pro HRT he wants you to try without it. I am 42. He did tell me at my 6 week check up he asked about hot flashes. I told him that if they didn't get any worse I could handle them. He said by this point they should be as bad as they are going to get.

Re: How long does it take to lose all the hormones

Anywhere from hours after surgery to a few months. Sorry, it's pretty individual.
